  Hello Again...

One of the best events in June is really several dozen events. You can’t beat Breakfast on the Farm…so check below for places and dates. If you’re good you can visit about a dozen across the state during June….Dairy Month of course!

By the way…I’m sorry for the missing editions of GarysGetaways. May was an incredibly busy month for me with business trips to Cincinnati and Milwaukee and visits to Bayfield, Manitowoc and the Wisconsin Dells.

To those of you who took the time to inquire – thanks for your concern. I hope you all had a very enjoyable start to your summer season.

I’m still dealing with AOL problems so if your copy looks like basic text, no formatting, that’s why. I’ll try to solve it soon.

DON’T FORGET THIS ADVICE: I suggest you ALWAYS PHONE AHEAD BEFORE YOU GO. Reservations are a must if space is limited ...and often required. Don't assume anything! Event organizers change plans, times change, classes fill, and lots of things can conspire to get you to somewhere only to find something was canceled. Or everything. So if the event is important to the trip...--Call in advance.

OK – now head off to a farm for some good old country breakfast!!

Wilderness Photography: Clyde Butcher and Gus Foster
"Supersized" is an apt adjective to describe the large-format photographs of Clyde Butcher and Gus Foster. Whether focusing on quiet, secluded nooks or nature's vast and diverse expanses, these two masters of oversized imagery look at the world with clarity and respect.Clyde Butcher shoots only in black and white to better express nature's elaborate details and textures without the potential distraction of color. Using this technique also allows him to dramatize the spirituality he seeks and finds in the wilderness areas he favors. The 37 photographs on view * many measuring upwards of 5 x 8 feet * comprise his millennium series. Gus Foster's 26 color photographs create a circular, almost three-dimensional experience for the viewer thanks to his mastery of the Globus-Holway panoramic camera. His 360+-degree vistas capture the larger-than-life scale and spirit of the American landscape. Foster, a Wausau native, resides in Taos, New Mexico.
