  Hello Again...

We saw SWING ON A STAR last Saturday at the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson – and it’s really a hit. I grew up as a late-Elvis, Early Beatles fan and I've always enjoyed big band music as "my parents music" -- from a distance. I usually just heard it on the radio or on recordings. With the recent focus on the rapid passing of the W.W.II generation we've begun to hear it again in film tributes and History Channel documentaries. But Fireside's live Big Band adds flash, verve, passion, life and a level of entertainment you'll just never get through a stereo speaker. (In addition to music, there's a great bit of comedy...including the best complete redo of the Abbott & Costello Who's On First shtick I've ever seen!) Highly recommended!

Again this year I suggest you REMEMBER….ALWAYS PHONE AHEAD BEFORE YOU GO. Reservations are a must if space is limited ...and often required. Don't assume anything! Event organizers change plans, times change, classes fill, and lots of things can conspire to get you to somewhere only to find something was canceled. Or everything. So if the event is important to the trip...--Call in advance.

Have an outstanding year of travel and fun in Wisconsin!

    Snowflake International Ski Jumping Tournament

This ski jump championship attracts participants from more than 11 countries. World-class jumpers soar 300 feet through the air as they jump Timber Coulee, a 114-meter hill – the same size hill used for jumping events in the Winter Olympics and one of only four of its size in North America. More than 50 participants – young and old, novice as well as Olympic caliber – will compete. Spectators can park along the outrun and see ski jumpers on each of the hills from the warmth of their car and listen to jump results broadcast on a local radio station – loudspeakers announce the results of each jump as well.
