This index promotes singles community support groups. We also have a community support group index which has a much broader scope.
Support groups require a close bond and common trust between participants to be successful. Our hope is that you, or someone near and dear, participate in a support group should the need arise.

Moving On, Growing Closer to God [info] |
While going through a divorce, many people feel lost and alone. Some have no one to talk to who can understand the pain that divorce and separation have caused. Yet others find themselves with a group of friends to help them work through this difficult time. GBCC has been hosting DivorceCare for the past 5 years to help ease the pain that is caused when a marriage dissolves, to find peace and comfort in the healing power of Christ, to come out of your divorce or separation with hope, being able to move on to experience all the joy that life affords.
DivorceCare is non-denominational and features biblical teaching for those recovering from divorce and separation. The 13-week program utilizes the experience and talents of nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics such as: Dr. Tony Evans, Dr. Bob Barnes, and H. Norman Wright. On video, these experts as well as others, share vital insights. Small group discussions are lead by facilitators who have gone through the pain of divorce. These people are skilled leaders who help their groups dialog on anger, forgiveness, reconciliation, new relationships, the road to healing, growing closer to God, and many other subjects.
You are welcome to begin attending the DivorceCare group on any week. Each session is “self contained,” meaning you can continue through the next sessions to involve yourself in topics of particular interest to you. Call Colleen at 593-3485 to register or for information.

It's hard to know how to help someone who is going through a divorce. It takes a long time and a lot of work to heal the pain that comes with the breakup of a marriage.
There aren't many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused to you, your family and your friends.
That's the reason for DivorceCare. It's a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you'll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life and to hope in the future.
Support Groups
At DivorceCare, you will become part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation and divorce. By interacting with these people, you'll learn there are others who understand what you are feeling and will be able to offer you encouragement. You'll also have a chance to talk about the information presented during the seminar. Many participants say these support groups are the most helpful part of the program.
DivorceCare Seminars feature video tape seminar sessions with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics.
