As we move toward global socialism, I feel a great sense of loss for what our forefathers, service men and women, and citizens have sacrificed to build this country, keep it strong and prospering. This Flag Day has a profound significants as I see our heritage and culture slip away to who know's what?

Our current administration is on a destructive path, borrowing and taxing us into the poor-house, aborting our next generation, redefining the foundation of family and covenant of marriage, allowing a buy-out of the banking and auto industry and forcing the energy sector to gouge us ever-so deeply, and by snatching away many of our inalienable rights as US citizens through hate-crimes and other obscured misguided legislation. The truth is much to obvious to ignore. To sum up in two words how we got to this time in history— GREED & SELF-INDULGENCE.

We once lived in a society where the majority ruled. The voice of the people is being abandoned. Where is the justice in this? Are we are guilty until proven innocent? Do we live in a society where those with the most money and power, or perhaps loudest cry, trump all else? Even if outright wrong or that which falls in a gray area which is clearly unethical or outlandish in its nature— Not healthy for the majority of the people or society itself for that matter?

Even so, out of respect for what once was, and hope to be, I salute the symbolic nature of our flag with optimism and pray with repentance this Flag Day like no other as I weep seeing and feeling the pain of good people who've been affected by the slow agonizing demise of our culture and country— And certainly will into the future if we continue to loose our sense of direction and hope as a country and a people.

The national motto of the United States is declared to be 'In God we trust.'

172. Pledge of allegiance to the flag; [source]
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, 'I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.', should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.

176. Respect for flag [source]
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

1. (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
2. (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
3. (c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
4. (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
5. (e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
6. (f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
7. (g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
8. (h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
9. (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
10. (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
11. (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
