Thanks for allowing us into your home, office, and school. This web site is undergoing some significant changes since Grand Quest Wisconsin began unofficially in 2004. We have accumulated hundreds of pages that will; get you connected to your heart, your community, and Wisconsin. We may make you laugh, ponder and reflect, perhaps even cry. GrandQuest.org, by design, is a community resource. We'll also create an online community which will bring people together to Learn, Relate, and Discover; i.e. chat, forum, weblog, and classified ads. And a community calendar that lets you know what's happening in Wisconsin so you can get out and have some funenjoy and celebrate life!
Our goal is to interact with you on some level. Both online and in the streets of Wisconsin. Naturally, we created the site to reach people with information about our programs, services, events, and activities with hopes to meet people so we could be a part of their life, and they a part of our life. There is only so much we can do with the time we have and the limitations we live with. We know there is a great many people to meet, relationships to build & strengthen, places to go, and things needed that you may want to know more about. We're here for you!
COMMUNITY CALENDAR:
The community calendar is a free state wide service which we take great pride in. We are honored to provide event information in a Fun, Relevant, and Unusual Way. Many of us, including the founder, are visual people. We need something to catch our eye. Grand Quest Wisconsin wants to be unique and different in many aspects! Our calendar incorporates an occasional image to grab the viewers attention, also making it FUN to look at! If the monthly page gets to large we will break it down by week. By being uniquely different, we hope it may help event promoters, Wisconsin residents, as well as out-of-state tourists, make the decision to get involved in WisconsinA grand quest destination!
NAVIGATION:
This is going to be a big site. I spent more than two day's making a script for a dynamic unfolding menu using Coffee Cup DHTML Menu Builder just to find the script was 48 KB, which would delay the page load significantly. Our goal is to keep pages simple and under 70 KB using less than 20 KB of graphics to keep pages loading fast. WYSIWYG means what you see is what you get. Until the whole world gets broadband, it's unlikely you will see a fancy menu here.
BOTTOM LINKS:
All of our pages have links at the bottom to most of the directories we feel are a good starting point. They will lead you to other directories that align with that topic. Note that these links Do Not open in a new window.
TOP TAB LINKS:
The tabs under the header image are links to directories visitors use frequently. They open the page in a new window.
RELATED CONTENT:
Most of our pages have a table titled Related Content. Links to grandquest.org pages (do not open in a new window). Links to content may also be on FoxValleySingles.com which resides on the same server. These links will open in a new window and will have a balloon icon identifier.
RELATED LINKS:
Most of our pages have a table titled Related Links. These links will open in a new window. They are to off site content we feel is important as it relates to the purpose of the page.
LINKS WITHIN DIALOGUE:
Many of our pages will provide links within our dialogue. These links will ALL open in a new window. POP UP windows are used minimally for tidbits of text, a map, or something which is not practical to dedicate to a separate page. An example is the copyright text to use NIV Bible Scripture on our sites.
POP UP's:
More on the subject. Rest assured, we will never use popup's or pop-under's intrusively for any reason...never! Please add foxvalleysingles.com and grandquest.org to your popup blockers list of "sites to allow."
CONTENT:
The main content index is a source to all the pages on our site, broken down to mirror our main directories. Often referred to as a site map. The TITLE of the index is the main page (be sure to visit it). Sub titles are indexes which fall in that category. Many sites point you to a page from an index, only to remove it making room for something else. We have created a way for you to go to the content directory and find all the files that were ever used on that index.
This may be confusing. To provide an example, we have a index called "Wellness." The files used for that directory can be found on the index page called grandquest.org/content/wellness/.

HEADER IMAGE:
The header image is not our logo, though a great deal of thought and effort went into what we wanted to portray in our image.
The two doves represent love in our relationships. It takes two to fall in love and stay in love. It also implies that to love, we must give unconditionally and be open to receive love from others to truly experience love in all its glory as God intends. When one chooses to forgive others, only then can emotion and feelings be on a heart level which leads to the fulfillment and contentment sought by so many people in our fasted paced, broken-hearted culture. Love is a gift, not an obligation.
The word's grand and quest represent two things. "Grand" is the way we should look at lifeon a grand scale. It's large and impressive. We're only here for a short time. Therefore, we should make it all it can becontinually improving. Life itself is more than the material things we accumulate along life's journey. Life is building legacies with those we love, here and now, and loving with integrity and commitment. The word "Quest" represents the journey we're onLife's an adventure. Most of us are looking for, in search of...something, consciously and subconsciously. An achievement, recognition, job, wife, husband, better relationshipsSomething!
The background represents the reality of life and a purpose. On the left side is a dark dreary day. The water is still and reflects an image. The branches are bare. We all have day's which we dread. Those day's we feel stagnant-dead inside. Overwhelmed with challenges beyond our control. Not bearing fruit from our efforts. Little personal growth or accomplishment, with little to share with others. On the right is a lighthouse shinning ever so bright. Lighthouses are part of Wisconsin's history and many still function with their continued intent, which is to warn and guide ships in places or at times when dangerous to them. We to are like ships, often lost in the fog, in need guidance, direction, and warning. It's encouraging knowing, when in distress or darkness, there is a light to bring us through obstacle's and potential hazardsback in safely to our destination, ultimately home. In the Christian community, that light is God through the living sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross and in His Word as written in The Holy Bible.
In the center of the image is a red-orange hue on the horizon reflected over a vast body of water. Water is life giving in its purest form. While I was growing up, I was told by my Dad that a bright colored horizon meant the weather was going to change soon. The lesson in this was we need learn to accept change, weather, good or bad. This vast area in life, the middle ground between the dark day's and those most bright, is to be our purpose in our personal and spiritual life. To reach that place in life, out of our growth and obiediance, where balance and contentment fills those around us.
The word Wisconsin represents the demographic area we respectfully serve. We wish to represent Wisconsin's interests, culture, and heritage in a relevant and honoring format which benefits those who live, learn, work, create job's, raise families, and play here.
It's more than our mission. It's our Grand Quest, Hope For Our Future!
